However have high expectations for fashion season! And as much as I love Auburn Football, my thoughts tend to drift more towards the current trends in fashion and interior design. In one of the past Rachel Zoe Project episodes she spoke with Oscar de la Renta, asking him how he prepared for his upcoming season. Mr. de la Renta responded that to look forward in fashion is to look to the past.
There is a reason why as designers whether fashion, or interiors one looks towards History to spark their inspiration. Currently I have been falling in love with mid century style. My inspiration... Mad Men
Style: chic, yet the perfect blend of masculinity and femininity. Bring on the Chintz, Gloves & Jewel Tones for the fall!! Slip in a couple Mies van der Rohe side chairs and a glass of 7 & 7 and the scene is complete.
I greatly admire and am also inspired by designer Josie McCarthy (http://www.josiemccarthy.com). She has the ability to create an atmosphere that not only accomplishes great design but establishes timeless elegance. In these 2 photos below, she captivates ones eye by marrying minimalism & classicism.
In the past Elle Decor (September Issue) I loved the article, "A Glass House Fit for a Family". This image below was one of my favs... because of the red lacquer basic shelves set off by the espresso brown walls, & flanked by the traditional side chair.
Just like Interior Design, Fashion can equally depict "timeless elegance". I love this Marc Jacobs fall 2010 RTW.
Both of these styles are from the same collection and define elegance. I love the styling of the fur, gloves, gold shoes and crepe velvet. Obviously my color pallet reflects blushes, nudes and neutrals.. and a pop of color if necessary.
